DEWA Robotics Championship is an initiative by DEWA to create a culture of innovation among young generation and future innovators to showcase possible innovative solutions with the key focus on innovation in Renewable and clean energy, water, technology and future. This supports the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make the UAE among the top innovative nations in the world, and the vision of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility. The challenge is open for universities and schools- students from grade 6 to 12 – across the UAE to build their own robotics under the specified themes. DEWA will provide Robotic kits to all the registered participants and teams. These are equipped with sustainable innovative gadgets, such as solar panels, sensors, chargeable batteries and programmable microcontrollers. DEWA will arrange a visit to each Emirate to distribute the kits, support the participants, and train them on how to build their own robots. Invitations will be sent to the participants in each Emirate about the details of the distribution points, which will include dates, times and venues.

only 700 projects will be selected to compete
Registration and participation must be done through student schools or mentors ONLY
Project may be submitted by individuals or teams
A maximum of four participants can make up each team in the school category
A maximum of two participants can make up a team in the university category
School students and University students must register through a DEWA Robotics Championship website
Applicants will compete and the best teams from different categories will receive prizes
Applicants must provide a comprehensive abstract of 200 words at most, with clear objectives and outcomes
Double-submission of a project will not be accepted
